From authentication to action: How Stellantis is motivating its garage network against counterfeiting

Product authentication creates the strongest value when people actively use it. As part of its long-standing collaboration with KURZ SCRIBOS, Stellantis is taking this principle into its professional aftermarket network with a new incentive initiative designed to encourage authentication at garage level.

A long-standing approach to spare parts protection

Counterfeit spare parts remain a significant challenge for the automotive aftermarket. For years, Stellantis has worked with KURZ SCRIBOS to strengthen product authentication and gain greater visibility across its spare parts network.

The existing solution combines VeoMark® security labels with the SCRIBOS 360 digital platform. Unique identifiers enable smartphone-based product verification without requiring a dedicated app, while authentication activity provides Stellantis with data that can help identify suspicious market activity. Today, hundreds of millions of Stellantis spare parts are protected through this connected system.

But establishing authentication technology is only one part of effective brand protection. The next question is equally important:

How do you encourage the people handling genuine parts every day to actually use it?

Bringing authentication closer to the garage

From October 1 to December 31, 2026, Stellantis is addressing this question with a dedicated incentive initiative through IZZY by DISTRIGO, its loyalty platform for garages.

The pilot targets around 15,000 garages in France and encourages participating repairers to scan secured security labels found on MOPAR, EUROREPAR and SUSTAINera spare parts.

The principle is straightforward: Participating garages use their smartphones to scan different secured security labels and receive IZZY loyalty points for their activity.

During the campaign, one scanned label is rewarded with 50 IZZY points. An additional monthly booster increases this to 150 points for qualifying scans, according to the campaign conditions.

At the same time, the IZZY portal provides information explaining why the security labels are used, the risks associated with counterfeit parts and how users can verify the authenticity of a secured product.

The result is more than a loyalty activity. It brings product authentication directly into the everyday environment of the professionals handling spare parts.

Why encouraging scans matters

The value of this initiative goes beyond rewarding individual scans. By encouraging garages to actively engage with the security labels, Stellantis can make greater use of its existing authentication infrastructure.

More scans mean more data
Every scan feeds into SCRIBOS 360, providing Stellantis with additional authentication data to track activity, detect unusual scan patterns and identify regional anomalies.

The numbers provided are indicative for confidentiality reasons.

More interaction means more control
By actively encouraging garages to authenticate secured spare parts, Stellantis creates a continuous feedback loop. This provides greater visibility across the network and supports more targeted brand protection measures when suspicious activity occurs.

More visibility means more trust
When garages can verify the authenticity of Stellantis spare parts themselves, the security label becomes a visible sign of product integrity. This can strengthen confidence in genuine Stellantis products and, over time, support positive recommendations and continued purchasing within the network.

Making authentication work harder

The Stellantis initiative shows the value of thinking beyond the security label itself. The authentication infrastructure is already in place, but targeted activities can encourage more people within the network to interact with it.

In this case, the incentive gives garages an additional reason to scan, while Stellantis benefits from increased authentication activity. At the same time, communicating the purpose of the security labels helps reinforce the value of genuine parts among the professionals who work with them every day.

It is a practical example of how physical product protection, digital authentication and activation can work together as part of a broader brand protection strategy.
