This award acknowledges our commitment to combining design excellence with cutting-edge product protection.

On the 30th of May 2025, our Sweet Honey packaging was honored with a World Packaging Award from the World Packaging Organisation  — a huge milestone for the entire team at KURZ SCRIBOS and LEONHARD KURZ!   This project is truly something special: a blend of striking design, state-of-the-art digital print, copy protection, and interactive consumer engagement.   But that wasn’t all — we also took home one of the ‘Special Awards’ in the Marketing category! The jury recognized the innovative concept that connects design and technology in a way that’s engaging, secure, and unforgettable.

SCRIBOS and the brand protection and customized brand decoration division of LEONHARD KURZ are joining forces under the new name KURZ SCRIBOS. This strategic move combines KURZ’s expertise in optical security and enhancement features with SCRIBOS’ digital technologies such as ValiGate® and SCRIBOS 360. Customers benefit from a powerful, unified approach to product protection and brand experience. The new brand stands for advanced security, digital innovation, and global service—delivered from a single source.

Our Sweet Honey Project has won another prestigious award — this time, the WorldStar Award in the category Digital Packaging! Counterfeit honey is a growing global issue, with alarming rates of falsified products threatening consumer trust and safety. That’s why we teamed up with LEONHARD KURZ and HP Indigo to create a revolutionary solution: packaging powered by ValiGate® technology. 💡 How does it work? Each package features variable digital embellishment with unique bees that can’t be duplicated. By scanning a code and using our 2-Factor-Bee-Authentication, consumers can verify the product’s authenticity in seconds, comparing the unique bees on the packaging with those on their smartphone.

Counterfeit products are booming during the holiday season. According to the German Patent Office, this time of year is peak season for counterfeiters, as online shops flood the market with seemingly "great deals" that often turn out to be low-quality fakes. In 2023 alone, 152 million counterfeit items were confiscated across Europe — a shocking 77% increase from the previous year. Adding to the problem, 40% of young consumers (15-24) knowingly purchase counterfeit goods, fueling a dangerous trend. The counterfeit market not only undermines the economy but also poses serious risks to health and safety. These fakes harm businesses, endanger lives, and ultimately rob consumers of trust and joy.

We’re thrilled to share the ELEV8 Your Labels Envelope project — a creative collaboration led by EUROSTAMPA, involving strategic partners like Luxoro and featuring brands like Bacardi, Nutella, Jose Cuervo and Perrier-Jouet. In this unique project, students from the University of Gastronomic Sciences Pollenzo and University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning co-designed innovative labels tailored to Generation Z. Eurostampa then refined these ideas, developing them into final creative-technical solutions for the brands. SCRIBOS proudly supported the project by supplying its ValiGate® Direct Print solution on each envelope, enabling seamless product authentication and direct consumer engagement through customisable promotional buttons.

We are thrilled to announce that we have, together with our parent company KURZ, won the prestigious German Packaging Award 2024 in the Digitalization category! Out of nearly 250 entries from 13 countries, our innovative "Sweet Honey" smart packaging solution was recognised for its groundbreaking approach to digitalisation in packaging. It was presented for the first time at this DRUPA event, together with our valued partners at HP. With the help of our ValiGate® security feature, the packaging combines digital and analogue components, allowing consumers to easily verify product authenticity and access additional information with a simple smartphone scan—no separate app required! At the event, Luxoro is presenting a special marketing project in partnership with KIKO MILANO, a renowned cosmetic company. The project features a cosmetics beauty set, including a foundation, eyeshadow palette and mascara, adorned with KURZ effects. The package prominently showcases our SCRIBOS ValiGate® Green label, a sustainable anti-counterfeiting option made from 100% compostable materials. This label maintains high security levels, while aligning with brand owners' sustainability goals. Furthermore, it offers reliable product authentication via our SCRIBOS 360 digital platform. The product can be authenticated with a simple scan without the interim step of installing an app. This exclusive package is currently on display at the event, serving as a demonstration of our innovative and sustainable anti-counterfeiting solutions for various packaging needs.
